Ducati India has scheduled the launch of its new SuperSport motorcycle for September 22. The company has already started taking bookings for the upcoming model and deliveries may begin soon after the launch.
Both the standard and SuperSport S models are expected to hit the Indian market, although there is no official confirmation on this. Looking at the prices of the existing model, the Ducati Supersport is likely to get a starting price tag of around Rs.11.5 lakh.
Powering the motorcycle is the same 937cc Testastretta L-Twin that also propels the Multistrada 950 and the Hypermotard 939. Mated to a six-speed transmission, the motor makes 110PS and delivers a peak torque of 93Nm. The peak torque kicks in at 6,500rpm, while it claims to offer 80 per cent at just 3,000rpm.
The SuperSport S also sports the same mill with the same relaxed state of tuning. However, the bike gets some advanced features such as a quick-shifter to allow aggressive gearshifts.
There are three riding modes in both the standard and SuperSport S , one of which limits power output down to as much as 75PS, and the ride-by-wire promises an instant throttle response. Other key features include fully adjustable suspension setup, high-performance Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres and brakes with Brembo M4-32 monobloc callipers, Bosch 9MP ABS and Ducati Traction Control
