Fresher and more youthful, dynamic, more powerful and elegant; this is how Mercedes-Benz visualizes its redesigned E-Class sedan range. Now Carlsson, one of the foremost Mercedes Benz and smart tuners, introduces their exclusive customization programme for the redesigned E-Class, comprising of alloy wheels, performance enhancements and interior and exterior modifications.
For vehicles with factory sport grille, Carlsson provides their stylized prancing horse logo in chrome as the radiator emblem. The stylishly shaped front spoiler with matching RS spoiler lip gives the vehicle a more dynamic face, whereas the more contoured side skirts strengthen its unique side profile. At the rear, the new apron, integrating Carlsson’s RS style diffuser, highlights the sporty ambitions of E-Class, which are further accentuated by the boot lid spoiler. This sonorous exhaust for petrol-engine variants features the Carlsson logo stamped into its polished tailpipes. A sport exhaust system for diesel-powered vehicles is available on request.
The comprehensive aerodynamic styling programme applies to all versions without the AMG sports package, whereas the rear spoiler fits all versions of E-Class sedan. All aerodynamic components are developed from high quality polyurethane plastics to OE standards of fit and finish.
The range of Carlsson alloy wheels for the E-Class starts with 1/10 design, and is offered as a Graphite Edition in 19 inch and 20 inch diameter, and in the Titanium or Brilliant Edition in 18, 19 and 20-inch diameter. The 1/16 RS wheel design comes as the Titanium or Diamond Edition in 18, 19 and 20-inch diameters, with the Brilliant Edition available in 18 and 19-inch sizes.
To make the most of the wider rubber, the tuning firm provides solutions for both the air suspension and steel options. A set of uprated springs, which works with the stock dampers, and drops the ride height by 30mm is the basic offering for steel sprung models. E-Class models equipped with Airmatic suspension benefit from Carlsson C-Tronic Air-4 module, which electronically lowers the static ride height by about 30mm. As a further option, the C-Tronic suspension CS Wi-Fi system enables remote user control over the cars ride height through iPad or iPhone. To underpin the visual enhancements with performance updates, the engineers of Carlsson developed performance kits for the petrol and diesel engine range.
The CK40 performance kit increases 245 kW/333 horsepower output of V6-powered twin-turbo E400 to 283 kW/385 horsepower, at the same time raising maximum torque from 480 Nm to 550 Nm. The 250 km/h top speed limiter is removed, enabling a 280 km/h Vmax. These performance gains come from an ECU remap.
The CK50 performance kit for the twin-turbo V8 powered E500 uses free-flow sports air filter and a remapped ECU for producing 385 kW/523 horsepower, up from 300 kW/408 horsepower, in addition to an increase in torque from 600 Nm to 730 Nm. Top speed goes up from 250 km/h to 300 km/h.
For the diesel powerplants, Carlsson’s groundbreaking C-Tronic Diesel Power SW CD35, lifts the 195 kW/256 hp of the E350 CDI Bluetec to 228 kW/310 hp, with an increase in torque from 620 Nm to 700 Nm. For the four-cylinder diesel engines in the E200 CGI and E250 CGI, the Carlsson C-Tronic CB 20-25 integrated electronics module plugs into the factory ECU via the supplied adapter.
The power of the 200 CGI is increased from 135 kW/184 hp to 155 kW/211 hp, with peak torque up from 270 Nm to 330 Nm. Boasting 170 kW/231hp and a maximum torque of 370 Nm, the Carlsson fettled 250 CGI sees a useful increase over the standard 150 kW/204 hp and 310 Nm.
Carlsson will help you to create your own distinctive atmosphere in the cockpit, using the finest materials from their in-house upholstery shop. After a complete re-trim in the Alcantara and finest leather, with carbon-fiber, aluminum or wood inlays in either off-the-peg or bespoke hues, the interior can then be given the finishing touch with Carlsson illuminated sill plates, aluminum footrest and pedals, alloy door lock pins and floor mats.
