March is the year end of financial term so everyone goes in a hurry to claim depreciation and save tax. This becomes the cashing point for carmakers, and leaving no stones unturned they roll out a number of vehicles to gain prominent market share. While too an extent it is said that March is not as beneficiary as the festive seasons but we say that a good car always makes well in spite of any given time and condition.
As we had already confirmed about the Upcoming launches in Year 2013 for Indian territory, now clouds are becoming clear day by day, so we thought of giving a clean bit of info once again restricted only to the March itself.
Following are the new launches for 2013 March:
Volvo V40 Cross Country
Volvo V40 Cross country is based on the standard V40 hatchback and is set lock horns with BMW X1, Mercedes Benz B-Class and Audi Q3, as going to make debut in the premium crossover segment. V40 Cross Country is embedded by 2.0 liter 163 bhp powered D3 engine mated with six-speed automatic gearbox. Prices are expected to be lugging around Rs. 30 lakh – Rs. 35 lakh because competitors do lie in the same range itself.
Renault Duster AWD
Duster is known as the world’s cheapest SUV and is doing well for Renault here in India too. Already took everyone by its stride, and now is gearing up for the AWD in scorching March 2013. As per some sources, new Duster will not be a permanent AWD but will be sporting a Switch-to-Fly conversion system. An additional amount of Rs. 60,000 – Rs. 100,000 will be concluded on the final bar codes, must say that XUV 500 to be its nearest rival soon. However it is also learnt that UK spec all-traction is produced in our Chennai facility and being exported there because of right hand drive similarity, expectations for the same spec goes on a strong note for Indian shores.
Ford EcoSport
Ford was on a dark side in this mild long Endeavour-ing gap but hopefully it is going to recover with the new compact SUV offering EsoSport. The new Compact had already taken all WOWS on its board and is luring everyone with the distinctive yet sporty aesthetics. We expect that even hatchbacks will also face the heat in nearby season. The 1.0 liter EcoBoost, 1.5 liter normal petrol and 1.5 liter turbocharged diesel are confirmed for India in a pricing range of Rs. 5.99 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh.
Audi S6
Audi is known for sheer luxury and ultimate power, making further launches on this base will definitely give in a good blow to competitors. Audi had been lacking for quite some time on the sedan platform between Rs. 60 lakh – Rs. 65 lakh, was a due to ‘sporty’ aesthetics unlikely to chauffeur class temptations in present range. Audi S6 is definitely going to fulfill the gap in an efficient manner as comes loaded with 4.0 liter TFSI V8 motor churning out 420 bhp and 550 Nm of torque. The fuel efficiency ticker also measures good at 10.30 kmpl, can be said sufficient for Indian market as being derived underneath a so classy saloon. S6 is slated to launch in this March because doing further delays will result in a loss making arrival and already Audi had passed away some miles without cashing on that particular specified typos.
Maruti Suzuki A-Star Facelift
A-Star is a cool buy for Indians because it gives them a boasting figure of everything that is desired in our Indian auto fraternity, ranging from cabin space to fuel efficiency that too with the competitive price band and low maintenance cost.
A-star was same for the last few moments, and in a tremendous need to be updated for this season. However, a cabriolet version was displayed at Delhi Auto Expo in recent years but we didn’t got to know about the green flag being waived at production facility or not. Lest of all the talks, facelift Star will be blessed by new front fascia, with a more beefed up angular headlamps, and a crispier looks rather than the curvaceous one. Engines are expected to remain same i.e. 1.0 liter three cylinder K series but in a different tune of 71 bhp (as 68 bhp in the previous setting). Prices will surely not cross an expected criterion of Rs. 3.75 – Rs. 4.5 lakh.
Mahindra Reva e2o
Mahindra Reva e2o is famous for its electric vehicles; had already made good hype in other countries and is ready to launch its first model e2o in India on 18th March 2013. However, e2o is expected to change the commuting mode of India with cost-effective maintenance and lowest possible running expense. The Mahindra badged EV does charges itself through 15 amp plug and runs 100 kms on the fullest. It can achieve a top speed of 104 kmph. Only two doors are available for getting entry inside this four-seater cabin.
As of now, Mahindra had planned to produce only 30,000 units every year in the India’s only Platinum certified plant at Bengaluru which will then be increased by further demand. A price band of Rs. 4.5 lakh to Rs. 5.5 lakh is expected for this small Noddy-fied package.
