Fiat’s most promising offering of the date, 500X, is unveiled at Paris Motor Show 2014.
It joins the family of 500L and 500C which with those same promising looks of the retro-ism, and the platform is also identical to them.
Launch confirmation are not stated exactly for the other markets except the European counterparts.
Dimensionally, it measures 4,250mm in length, 1,800mm wide and a height of 1,600mm. There are variants as well, which are categorized as “Metropolitan” and “Leisure”. The latter is for off-road lovers whereas the former one is honed for an urban use.
In the terms of standard, front-wheel drive layout is billed; all-wheel drive is optional like the alloys wheels in the size of 16, 17 and 18 inch.
Underneath the hoods, there will be options of 1.4-L Turbo MultiAir II gasoline engine, powering 140PS of output, and a 1.6-L MultiJet II diesel engine of 120PS shall be doing their job. Both are meant to be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission applied to the front-wheel trims.
A more powerful, 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine, delivering 140PS power is going to be paired to a 9-speed automatic with 4WD.
Hence, the new Fiat seemed production ready and is soon to be launched in more than one hundred countries by the coming year. Manufacturing will be carried out at company’s SATA unit in Melfi, Italy.
