Fiat Avventura, the next Italian’s car for India except the Lamborghini Huracan, is reported to have commenced bookings officially.
Previewed at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, the hatchback based crossover has a spare wheel at rear and seemed possessing tweaked up ground clearance. Plastic cladding on the sides toughened it for off-road, which it isn’t entitled to rove at looking to its engine options.
Under the bonnet, lays 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol motor of 89bhp and 115Nm of torque. The diesel counterpart is provided by the company’s famous 1.3-litre Multijet of 4-cylinder 92bhp and 209Nm of torque.
However, the competition will be against the Volkswagen Cross Polo and Toyota Etios Cross.
Hence, the segment is still at flourishing stage, so not generous sales can be expected; it’s because the car will cater to sidelined audience of compact SUV and premium hatchback league who are sleeked out because of the drawbacks of both segments.
