Fiat, the automaker wasn’t performing well on Indian roads despite being Italian, now rolled out the new 2014 Punto Evo in India to better its stature. Priced at Rs 4.55 lakh for the starting variant, the new Fiat hatchback underwent a number of changes that is engrossed in terms of: revamped front grille, sweptback headlamps, and the power bulge on bonnet. Fog lamps draws the trapezoidal chromed lining.
Sides prominently remained the same, where at rear the tail lamps are given clear clusters with LEDs infused into it.
Hopefully, the styling also includes chromed dual insets on the rear bumper that mimics dual exhaust notes. The alloys are of different gestures for the petrol and diesel variants.
Inside the cabin, most of the cues were borrowed from the bigger sibling i.e. Fiat Linea facelift. The dual-tone dashboard with soft feel plastic and satin satire on some of the edges is cocooned to be the best. Noteworthy in its context, the Sport trim gets all-black interiors.
On the technical front, the Punto Evo remains identical to its older version with three options of engine provided. Two of them are in petrol – 67bhp 1.2-litre and an 89bhp 1.4-litre. On the diesel counterpart, the famous 1.3-liter Multijet is bricked in two states of tune – 75bhp and 90bhp. All of them are mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, with no automatic options provided at the moment.
