BMW has now come up with a new Rear Wheel drive model of its X3 called BMW X3 sDrive18d. The new model is powered by a 2.0 liter diesel engine that produces over 143bhp of power. The vehicle is available in two versions – a six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new vehicle possesses better performance with reduced fuel consumption and emission.
The Efficiency Dynamics Technology helps the new BMW X3 to emit just 135 g/km of CO2 and has an improved fuel consumption of about 55.4 mpg making it one of the most fuel-efficient and cleanest vehicles in the X3 range. These incredible figures allow the new sDrive18d to acquire VED Band E with a BIK (Benefit in Kind) taxation rate of only 21 percent. The impressive fuel economy doesn’t hamper the performance and the existing 2.0 liter diesel engine delivers 143 bhp of power with a high torque of about 360Nm between 1750 to 2500 rpm range. This results in incredible acceleration and high performance. The new BMW sDrive 18d can reach 0 to 62 mph in just 9.9 seconds and could drive to a top speed of about 121 mph.
At 28,580 pounds OTR for the SE model, the X3 sDrive 18d is about 2890 pound less than xDrive20d. Other than the Hill descent Control that is reserved for the 4-wheel drive model, new sDrive 18d matched 20d in every other standard feature on the board. SE model features auto start, 17-inch alloy wheels, Drive performance control, BMW iDrive with 6.5 inches colour screen and Nevada Leather upholstery. M Sport model holds some sporty features like 18-inch alloy, aerodynamic body styling, sport suspension and sports seats along with the other additions.
With the introduction of this new entry level model, BMW has expanded its X3 diesel range for up to four models. Thanks to its dynamic quality, sheer versatility and luxurious interior, BMW X3 will always be in agood position. The rear seats can be folded to achieve more boot space increase from 550 to 1600 liters. The BMW X3 is also available with an option of a trailer coupling to tow a maximum of about 2000 kg of load.
