In February 2013, Force had launched the Gurkha at Utility show in Greater Noida. The vehicle was in great demand for off-roading purpose and adventure. The updated version of the actual Gurkha was sold from 2008 to 2010 with a starting price of Rs.6.25 lakhs.
Even though the car had such high demands, due to certain reasons it was seen that the car never hit the showroom. The previous OM616 turbo diesel model of Gurkha could not be registered in most of the cities of India since it was only BS3 compliant. The new One EX which features the common rail direct injection makes the car BS4 compliant. The engine of the car can produce power up to 81bhp with maximum torque of 230Nm.
The Gurkha will be available in three variants, one hard top variant and two soft top variants. Since the car is an extreme off-roader based on the Mercedes’ G-wagon, it will be competing with Mahindra Thar. The Gurkha is considered to be a 4x4x4 extreme off-roading vehicle. Though there are not many picture of the car available at the moment, car enthusiasts can get a glimpse of the car from the new TC commercial of the Gurkha. The video of the car can only be expected when Force re-launches the Gurkha at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo.
