After the win by Fiat with its 875 cc twin cylinder TwinAir engine which won the ‘Best New Engine award’, now it’s time for the EcoBoost. This car engine has become a revelation of sorts and has catapulted Ford again to the top matching up against Toyota and Hyundai, who seemed to pull away from their American competitors. This engine the 1.0 Liter EcoBoost inline three is fitted onto the Ford SUV. And since this technology has begun powering the SUV’s, it has brought nothing but good faith and acclaim back to the Ford Company. It has been winning awards and laurels across the globe and finally has been selected for the most coveted award in its category from the Engine Technology International magazine. The votes had been cast by the world’s top automotive industry journalists and they have been unanimous, in favor of the 1.0 Liter EcoBoost. The honor has been given to the Ford engineers and authorities back in the first week of June (4th -6th) in Stuttgart, Germany.
Coming in hot on the heels of the Ford technology is the GM 1.4 Liter range extender followed up by BWM 2 Liter twin turbo four-cylinder petrol engine. Next in line where a couple of other engines from the BWM factory line, namely the BMW/BMW/PSA 1.6 liter turbo petrol that is housed inside the Mini Cooper S and the BMW 3 Series Turbo Six cylinder gasoline engine and the BMW M4 Liter V8 engine. Following close on the tail of these impressive BMW engines,is Audi’s 2.5 liter five cylinder turbo engines powering the Audi TT. It is being said that the upcoming Ford EcoSport will be powered by this mighty EcoBoost engine, which would be launched pretty soon in the market.
