American automaker Ford is set to introduce its much-awaited model Figo Aspire in India soon, and ahesd of its introduction, it has unveiled the technical details and engine specifications giving us a clear picture of Aspire. Let’s begin with the engine lineup – three powerplants will be available – 1.5 liter Ti-VCT, 1.5 liter TDCI and 1.2 liter Ti-VCT petrol and two transmission choices – dual clutch 6-speed automatic and 5-speed manual transmission.
Power for the entry level Ford Figo Aspire will come from a 1.2 liter Ti-VCT powerplant that’s good for producing 88PS of power with 112 newton meters of torque, whereas the 1.5 liter TDCi will generate 100PS of power with 215 newton meters. On the other hand, the 1.5 liter Ti-VCT is set to dish out 112PS of power with 136 newton meters.
The all-new Ford Figo Aspire measures 1525mm in height, 1695mm in width and 3995mm in length, and is seated on 2491mm wheelbase with ground clearance of 174mm. Offered in four different trim levels, the Aspire will come in Smoke Grey, Ingot Silver, Deep Impact Blue, Tuxedo Black, Oxford White, Sparkling Gold and Ruby Red.
Standard features on Ford Figo Aspire include six airbags, rear fog lamps, antilock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, dual tone interiors, Ford MyKey, automatic door lock, guide me home lamps, keyless entry, driver and passenger airbags, electric outside rearview mirrors, steering mounted audio and phone controls and Ford SYNC with AppLink with Voice Commands.
When launched, the Figo Aspire will compete with the likes of Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze and Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, and is expected to be priced between Rs. 5.2 to 7 lakhs.
