We recently learnt about the Mercedes Benz raised prices of its models for the coming season, now Ford also joined the league of MB to commemorate the most similar causes behind the hike.
However, American carmaker had opened a tab of 1-5% for raising the prices of its cars; hence it will be dependent upon the models affected by various pinching factors of market.
“Effective from September 5, 2013, the prices will be increased in the range of 1 per cent to 5 per cent across majority of Ford’s products depending on specific model and trim,” said Ford India in a statement.
The organization did not disclose many details about this new peripheral. We hope the most popular ones in the Ford’s repertoire namely Figo, Fiesta sedan, and the recently launched compact SUV EcoSport will be under the beam to face extended notches of price tags.
“Input costs have been consistently increasing and this is expected to continue for the foreseeable future. Although we have absorbed increases in costs over the past period, the situation is such that we now need to revise the prices of our vehicles,” said, Vinay Piparsania, Ford India Executive Director, Marketing, Sales and Service.
And as per to him, approximately Rs. 10,000 is raised on the aforementioned models, which we expect may follow the Press Release of same soon in the coming days.
The weakening rupee against dollar, high interest rates, and upward rising inflation may have compelled the Blue Oval badge carmaker to take this stern step in this course of time.
