Barely a month after the introduction of the Figo Aspire Compact Sedan, the company has now launched the hatchback version of the car as the all new Ford FIgo. Price of the new hatchback begins at Rs.4.29 lakh for the base petrol model and goes up to Rs.7.4 lakh for the top end model. The car looks much improved and raring to go.
Powered by either a 1.5-litre petrol, 1.2-litre petrol or a 1.5-litre diesel engine, the Figo will come in three different engine options. The diesel version will have a 1.5-litre TDCi powertrain delivering 100bhp in terms of max power as well as 215Nm of peak torque. The 1.2 litre TiVCT petrol engine will have 88bhp of peak power and 112Nm of peak torque, while the 1.5-litre TiVCT petrol mill will deliver 112bhp of max power as well as 136Nm of max torque. The first two will have a five-speed manual transmission while the latter will see a six-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
The car is to be exported to as many as 50 markets apart from being sold in India and is the only hatchback in the country which will have six airbags for the top of the line model. The Figo will be competing with the likes of the Hyundai Grand i10 and the Maruti Suzuki Swift in markets here and will look to establish itself as a leading hatchback.
