Home grown manufacturer, Tata Motors recently posted their global sales figures for the month of May. The company saw a rise of 11% in their sales boosted mainly by their Land Rover range and commercial vehicles. The company managed to sell a total of 88,251 models in the last month.
The company sales from their luxury Land Rover and Jaguar brands accounted for 22,296 units sold in May, a growth of 17%, against the corresponding period in 2010. Though sales of the Jaguar brand’s luxury sedans dropped by 18% to 4,221 models last month, the sales of their Land Rover brand increased by 30%, selling 18,075 models.
The company’s overall sales of passenger vehicles increase by 2% to 44,181 models last month against May 2010. Meanwhile the sales of their commercial vehicles rose by 20%, selling 44,070 models last month, against May 2010. The company’s global sales include the Hispano Corracera, Tata Daewoo and Tata range of CVs, their passenger vehicles, other distributed brands in India, Land Rover and Jaguar brands.
