The festival of speed, Goodwood festival has always brought a box of surprises for auto lovers. The Goodwood Festival 2012 too has been no different. One of those surprises of this year’s festival of speed was the cloaked prototype of the upcoming 2013 Clio RenaultSport Mk4. The event has always been a spot where the best cars along with motor sport royalty and celebrities can be encountered.
The 4-day event took place from 28th June to 1st July, 2012. The Goodwood House was the venue of the festival. It’s the annual hill-climb event that is celebrated in a bigger way in the Goodwood House. In fact, the Renault Clio RS was also seen participating in the festival’s annual hill-climb. It was the Chief Operating Officer, Carlos Tavares, who drove the test vehicle for the famous hill-climb event. In fact, Renault Clio RS-Tavares combo completed the event quite successfully.
The Clio is speculated to debut in a span of few months. The company didn’t unveil much about the upcoming 2013 Clio RS. Only engine details have been revealed as of now. As per the available details, the 2013 Clio RS will feature a 1.6L turbocharged four-pot instead of the 2.0L four-cylinder engine. The car turned out to be one of the greatest attractions of this year’s Festival of Speed.
The car was originally launched in the year 1990. Gradually, the car has now reached its 3rd generation. The car has a history of success too. The car has been found to be the only car to be elected as European Car of the Year twice. It was in 1991 that it happened for the first time. Later in 2006, the same thing happened with the Clio. Every time the Clio gets a makeover or an upgrade, it gets better and better. This in turn leads to higher hopes for the 2013 Clio RS. Let’s wait and watch how much the car fulfills our expectations.
