Hero Splendor iSmart became the first two-wheeler in the country to have been certified BS6 compliant. It received its certificate from International Centre for Automotive Technology after successful compliance testing. Deadline for complying with BS6 standards is still far away as it would kick in effect from April 2020.
Hero has become the first two-wheeler maker in the country to have a BS6 compliant product and with this Hero has declared that it now has the technological prowess to meet the BS6 standards in all its products. To meet BS6 standards, the Splendor iSmart was fitted with closed-loop catalytic converter system, a fuel canister, an EFI unit, an ECU and lambda sensor.
