Considered as one of the oldest and more premier cars to hit the Indian roads, Ambassador is still going livewire. Hindustan Motors Ltd has lately decided to hold a check-up camp for all the Ambassadors rolling around. The car has been on the road for ages now and presently the car is used for ministerial purposes to transport VIPs from one place to another. This will be free of cost and is being called as the pre-monsoon check-up by Hindustan Motors Ltd. The camp will be based in all dealerships of the car from June 7thto June 9th.The prime objective behind calling all Ambassadors for check-up is that the company wants the car to deliver the best performance during the upcoming rainy season.
The range of services included in the free check-up include: –
- Under-body check-up
- AC check-up
- Assessment of vehicle condition
- Electrical check-ups
- Battery
All of these check-ups will be done free of cost and Hindustan Motors considers it as a courtesy to serve its customers free of cost so that their cars do not run into hassles in ever the harshest seasons. There will also be an availability of spare parts of the cars at discounted prices provided that the car is brought to the camp before June 30th after getting checked up at the free camp. The foundation of Hindustan Motors Ltd, which is a subordinate of multi-billion dollar CK Birla Group, was dug into the ground before the independence of the country. The inauguration took place at Port Okha based in Gujarat. The set-up location was later on shifted to Hooghly, West Bengal. West Bengal happened to be the place where the modern Ambassador model was first constructed following which mass production on the car started at a grand scale. The car became a rage in the market. There are four variants of the car that are still being manufactured. These are
- 1500cc Ambassador (Diesel)
- 2000cc Ambassador (Diesel)
- 1800cc Ambassador (Petrol)
- Ambassador CNG & LPG
Presently Hindustan Motors has another functional unit based in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh where the manufacturing process of its other car Winner takes place at a large scale. In 1998, Hindustan Motors tied up with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation of Japan and both have been allies since then. This free check-up camp will see at least 80% of turnout possibly.
