City, the flagship of Honda which is been on sale in India since 1998 and has passed through three generations, has taken up the rivals with some toiling numbers; but now it is seem to be waiting for getting itself dwelled in the diesel to spread the magic once again.
Hence, a report on internet confirmed that Japanese carmaker slated the diesel variant of it to launch by 2014.
According to the report, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, senior vice president, sales and marketing, confirmed the City of 2014 will be dwelling the 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine from that of the Amaze, assimilated by a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the automatic transmission to follow the line of business at a later stage.
Hence, there now lay the discussion of mileage, which expectedly the report has said to be around 20-22kmpl looking at the weight of City. Hence, one would say there are not much of the differences between the Amaze and upcoming City’s fuel efficiency figure, but it will have a sigh of relief for those who wanted to travel in luxury and would also not like to shell out the big bucks on rising prices of petrol.
Though, the cosmetics of the car shall not be taking over the new shape for 2014 City diesel, nor even on interiors. Honda this time seems to be planning a lot on the technicalities for cashing a lot.
