One of the most awaited cars of the year is the Grand i10 sedan. There are only spy pictures available of the car on the internet as Hyundai has not decided to disclose any information in relation to the car. Since the car belongs to the sedan segment, it is going to be one of the toughest competitions for Honda Amaze and the Maruti Dzire as these cars have been doing extremely well in terms of sale.
The gap that was created in the car line-up for Hyundai since the company stopped manufacturing Accent, is expected to be filled up by the Grand i10 sedan. The name of the car itself shows that the basic structure will be the same as that of the i10 hatchback. Features like the air condition vents in the rear, high quality front seats and dash are expected to be lifted.
The car will be offered with a 1.2-litre petrol engine as well as a 1.1-litre diesel engine. The company’s attempt to fit in the 1.4-litre, i20 engine failed as the engine seemed to be too large for the small sedan. Given the cost of the car and the advantage that the company enjoys as a result of large scale production, the car is expected to have a price tag which would give a good competition to other cars in the same segment.
