Hyundai has unveiled a sporty version of its i20 hatchback named the i20 N Sport. This car has been unveiled for the global markets and no news of it being launched anytime soon in India has yet arrived.
For those who don’t know, Hyundai N is the new performance brand of Hyundai. The i20 N Sport though will be powered by the same 1.4-liter petrol engine that powers the existing i20 car in the international markets, but the engine has been given an upgrade and now it delivers a peak power of 114bhp instead of the 98.6bhp it delivers in the standard i20s currently being sold around the world. Similarly an increase in torque numbers will also be seen with this engine. Peak torque produced by the i20 N Sport will now 16.3kgm instead of the 13.6kgm that it used to produce earlier. The engine has been mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
Other features of the Hyundai i20 N Sport include front wheel disc brakes, stiffer springs as well as ABD and EBD. Design changes of the i20 N Sport include aggressive styling elements all around. Notable features amongst these are 17-inch alloy wheels, rear boot spoiler, rear hatch door, and N badging all around.
