Hyundai India has revealed that they will be bringing the hybrid sedan Ioniq to India early next year. The launch will happen at the 2018 Auto Expo and once launched, the car will be competing against the Toyota Prius in the Indian market.
Hyundai’s aim with the Ioniq is to sell around 100 cars a month. The car will come powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine that puts out 102 bhp and 146 Nm of torque. The electric motor is capable of producing 42 bhp and 169.4 Nm of pulling power. Power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed dual clutch transmission.
The Ioniq will be brought to India via the CKD route and will be assembled here.
