So Hyundai Nexo has become the first carmaker to get a fuel cell powered car tested by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
The car is called Hyundai Nexo and it was given the Top Safety Pick award b IIHS. In fact, testing the Nexo was also beneficial to the IIHS as it offered it an opportunity to try it out its fuel cell testing technologies and thus gaining experience in this field.
The car scored huge in its safety test norms getting excellent ratings in all six crash worthiness tests. Frontal crash prevention scored superior rating. The vehicle has a forward collision warning system which prevented it from frontal collision at 12mph and 25mph during the tests.
