Will the Hyundai Santro make a comeback on the Indian roads? There is now a big possibility of that actually happening. Hyundai is working on an entry-level hatchback which it would name Santro, unless someone comes up with a better name before September.
The Santro was Hyundai’s first model in India and it was hugely successful. Soon after launch it had become a favourite of the Indian family crowd and was sold in huge numbers.
The new Santro has been codenamed AH2 and will compete against the lies of Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and Tata Tiago. Not much is known about the new Santro, but we believe the car would be launched with a petrol powertrain initially only.
