As per recent information in the market, Hyundai India could be bringing its latest Hyundai Sonata for display at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. This vehicle is globally recognized as the Hyundai i45. The premium segment car has been revamped and is now featuring the latest ‘Fluidic’ design of Hyundai, which has been the major facelift that the sedan has received. Hence, it is also expected that the car interiors is also going to be considerably enhanced to give freshness to its overall appeal. The best part is that this Hyundai Sonata could be going in for a more localized production. This is going to have a direct positive bearing on the price at which this vehicle is going to be made available. It is expected that the car is going to be priced around the range of Rs.20 Lacs. We take a look at the latest engine variants that this Sonata has been fitted with.
Speculations are high in the market that the car is going to get a major overhaul as far as its engine is concerned. The global model Hyundai i45 has been provided with two petrol engine variants itself, a VTVT 2.0L petrol engine along with another direct injection 2.4L petrol engine. Hyundai India, which is the second largest producer of cars in India, knows very well the increasing demand of diesel car variants in the country. Hence, they have addressed this aspect and offered the Sonata with the same R-diesel engine that has been used in the Santa Fe. This engine has the capacity of producing a maximum power of 180Bhp along with a peak torque of 392Nm.
Hyundai is also planning to retain the diesel and petrol engines that have been offered in its India bound Sonata Transform. The car has been equipped adequately with its VTVT petrol engine of 2.4L along with its CRDi engine of 2.0L. This is going to accompany the thoroughly redesigned interior and exterior based on the latest and highly popular fluidic design from Hyundai. As of now, the company is totally focused on increasing the sales of the Sonata, which has till date not managed to receive anything but a lukewarm response from the Indian market. If the latest Hyundai Sonata gets added to the list, it would mean that Hyundai India is going to showcase five latest cars at the Delhi Auto Expo, with the Hyundai Veloster, latest variants of the i10 and the i20 and its latest concept SUV making up the list.
