Know about how Hyundai Venue 2022 fares in our review using the principle of SWOT Analysis. We review the Venue through its strengths and weaknesses, find opportunities for the manufacturer to make its car better in the future and lastly, have a look at its rivals, which pose a threat to the Venue, Hyundai has launched the Venue at an introductory price of Rs.7.53 Lakhs (ex-showroom) and it is offered in five variants E, S, S+, S(O), & SX(O).
Let us start with the strengths of Hyundai Venue 2022.
Strengths Of Hyundai Venue 2022
Pricing
Hyundai has launched the base variant of the Venue at an introductory price of Rs 7.53 Lakhs (ex-showroom), which makes it an affordable SUV in the segment. It is priced lesser than the Tata Nexon and higher than the Kia Sonet. However, the price announced is introductory pricing, so if the brand is able to hold on to these prices for long, this might be one of the strengths of the Hyundai Venue.
Features
Hyundai Venue has been known for its feature-loaded specs. With the facelift, Venue gets smarter inside out. It now features a four-spoke steering wheel, an air purifier, electric sunroof, powered adjustable driver seat, digital instrument cluster, drive modes & 60+ connected car tech features.
Powertrain Options
Considering the strict Bs-6 regulations and manufacturers sticking to petrol engine only policy, Hyundai owns the market share with its offering of petrol and diesel engines, while diesel is the best seller. The Venue is offered with two petrol and a diesel engine.
The 1.0L turbo petrol churns out 118 HP and 172 Nm torque, the 1.2 L Naturally Aspirated engine produces 82 HP & 115 Nm, & lastly, the 1.5L diesel produces 99 HP & 240 Nm torque. These engines are available with a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Alexa Voice Assistant
The Venue comes with a segment-first feature of Alexa & Google Voice Assistant feature. This feature can be used to operate functions of the car remotely, without the need of being present in the car. For ex. You can request a command to switch on the AC of the car to pre-cool the cabin.
Weaknesses Of Hyundai Venue 2022
Expensive Top-End Variant
While the Venue is affordable with the lower variants the top-end variants are priced on the higher side. But the size of the SUV and the segment just don’t go hand in hand with the pricing of the top-end variant.
No Diesel AT Variant
While the Venue features a Diesel engine, it is still not offered with an automatic gearbox, which is a big disappointment considering its rivals. Venue’s own sibling Kia Sonet comes with a diesel automatic, which is the best seller variant in the segment.
Rear Seat Comfort
The rear seats of the Venue are not the widest nor the most comfortable, for three passengers. The SUV is best suited with four passengers in the cabin.

Threats For Hyundai Venue 2022
Nissan Magnite
The Magnite has been performing really well in the segment with its on-point pricing. It has garnered a booking of over 1 Lakhs units since its launch.
Kia Sonet
The diesel automatic variant and the customisation options of the Kia Sonet pose a threat to its sibling, Hyundai Venue. Both the SUVs are equally feature-loaded, but Sonet takes a lead in certain aspects, for ex. It is wider than the Venue and is offered with Bose Speaker surround system.
Tata Nexon
The Nexon has received appreciation for its superior build quality in the segment. It does well in terms of sales figures too, and with a diesel automatic variant to offer, it is a serious threat to the Venue.
To conclude this SWOT Analysis, it would be fair to say that the Hyundai Venue is indeed a great offering from Hyundai for young buyers who are looking out for a compact SUV. But, if the build quality is the prime criterion for your purchase, then think no further than the Nexon.
