BMW 3-Series launched in Nigeria for 11.5million Nigerian Naira (approx Rs. 45 lakh INR). The Bavarians launched the GT in five-door variant for Nigerians.
The GT was unveiled outside the Adeola Odeku Coscharis office in Victoria Island, Lagos on Friday 13, 2013. Commenting at the launch, President, Coscharis Group, Mr. Cosmas Maduka said, “The now fifth variant of the BMW 3 Series clearly combines two apparent contradictions: a deliberately coupe-like vehicle design on the one hand and on the other, an extraordinarily generous amount of space with excellent functionality which is rarely found in a car with such a sporty and elegant roofline. However, this does not adversely affect the car’s dynamic appearance. It is simply a car with intelligent innovations.”
BMW 3-Series GT was unveiled to the audience at 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show in conceptual form, later on it was then rolled out in many markets with attractive price tags.
However, we aren’t informed about the engine specifications given for Nigerians. Mentioned below are the engine specifications sold in other markets:
- 2.0-lite four-cylinder diesel with 143hp and 320Nm
- 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel with 184hp and 380Nm
- 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol with 184hp and 270Nm
- 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol with 245hp and 350Nm
- 3.0-liter inline-six cylinder with 306hp and 400Nm
We too expect the 3-Series GT may also be launched on Indian shores by 2014 in the vicinity of Rs. 40-50 lakh.
