After reporting record sales of above 600 cars in the month of January 2011, Mercedes Benz India Limited are looking to recapture their numero uno status from BMW India in the premium luxury car market. To this very effect, the company is organizing the Mercedes-Benz StarDrive Experience in Mumbai. Earlier on, it was Pune and Hyderabad wherein which this program was held. The venue selected for Mumbai is the famous Juhu aerodrome.
The best part of this event is that we at Indiandrives have received an invitation from Shaman Auto to be a part. Mercedes says that the reason behind conducting this event is to bring in more awareness about its products which people consider only as show-off objects. Apart from the performance and power which would be on display with cars like the GL class, ML class and the usual C and E class, there would also be a demonstration on the various safety standards adopted by the German auto manufacturer. It would also allow one and all, albeit on invite, to drive the cars and checkout their off-road capabilities (for the SUVs, off course), safety standards in all the passenger cars and also how to drive in a safe and controlled manner. There would also be simulators demonstrating critical road conditions and how to tackle them as well. The event is organized by two of Mercedes Benz India Limited’s reputed dealers namely Shaman Auto and Auto Hangar.
The event would be held on February 12th and 13th. Since we would be a part of the event on 13th February, expect a big article on the same on Valentine’s day.
