No one needs any introduction to the Jaguar XKR success. The British automaker’s grand tourer has been doing well in the market since over 15 years. Now the car manufacturer has come up with a special trim edition for its 5.0L supercharged XKR supercar. The special edition includes new exterior and interior styling changes to give a classy touch to the looks and a fresh and powerful character to the street’s big cat.
Taking a look into the exterior changes of the car first, we can find inclusion of bigger and polished 20-inch Orona alloy wheels along with a new shade for the car; Celestial Black. As of now, the car is already available in five different hues, Polaris white, rhodium silver, lunar grey, crystal blue and ultimate black.
Interiors of the XKR too have undergone few changes, as the special edition of the car has been induced with Navy or Truffle-color specified Scraffito grain leather upholstery, which can be seen on the instrument binnacle, seats, door and rear quarter casings as well. As far as the micro piping of the Navy and Truffle shades are concerned, the Navy hue comes with contrasting London Tan, while the Truffle hue comes with ivory shade. On the other hand, the Navy color option comes with London Tan nuback carpets, while the carpets for the Truffle color is same as that of its micro piping, ivory shaded.
Now it’s time to take a quick look under the bonnet of the special trim edition of this vehicle. The British automaker has continued to feature the beastly 5.0L DI V8 engine in the special edition too. The untamed ferocious engine churns out a power of 510PS and a torque of 625Nm. The rear wheel-driven car’s engine has been mated with a six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters to an electronic differential.
The grand tourer can actually reach the speed of 100kmph from standstill in a mere 4.8 seconds. The beast, with an electronically controlled top-speed of 250kmph, has been made available at a price tag of Rs.1.27 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
