As we are more than a year away from the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, reports have started flowing with regard to that most looked upon event of India.
A source informed: Jaguar is planning to launch its smaller sedan, the XE, in India at Delhi Auto Expo 2016.
With the launch, Jaguar will then be able to compete with Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3-Series.
Price of XE is touted to be slightly premium than rivals, as company wished to sell only fully-equip or top-end trim here. It’s because the Jaguar has its own image of premium selling cars and don’t wished to deteriorate that.
However, the engine options too aren’t confined clearly due to the reason a number of them exiats in the family. But speculations go well with the 2.0-litre diesel of 161bhp from Ingenium family and a similar capacity of petrol. The transmission will not be something less than the eight-speed automatic in the optional list against the six-speed manual. The production is not going to commence locally at the first stage. Likely to most other cases, automaker will import XE as CBU (completely built unit) at the initial phase, followed by local production at Pune facility in the coming months.
Hence, XE is a big ticket of Jaguar to the highly numerical sales of market. Once lost, it will then be difficult to regain that bargain. So, a well-deployed marketing team has to just kick out the right strategies.
Till then, stay tuned to IndianDrives for more updates on Jaguar XE.
