Jeep has started the production of its Jeep Compass compact SUV locally in India at its Ranjangaon based facility near Pune. The Jeep Compass produced here will not only serve the Indian buyers, but will also be exported to all the right-hand drive countries from here.
Hence, Jeep needs the Compass to succeed in India and everything will depend on the correct pricing of the SUV. We have learned through our sources in a Jeep dealership that the American company is planning to launch the Compass late in June, 2017. The dealer source has also confirmed that Jeep will price the Compass around Rs.18 lakhs, for the base variant.
Jeep will be launching the Compass only in the manual diesel version to start the sales of the Compass, followed by an automatic variant. The Compass will be offered in three variants – Sport, Longitude and Limited and the customers will have 50 trim configurations to buy it according to the taste.
