Jeep looking to bring Fiat based SUV

The Jeep Liberty, which is also known as the Cherokee in the international markets, is set to see the end of its current generation. Based on the reports coming from the firm, Chrysler group is thinking of stopping the manufacturing of the current generation of the vehicles at the Toledo North Assembly plant from next Thursday i.e. from August 16th.

The halting of the current vehicles is being done to make the way for the new SUV that will be developed on the new platform developed jointly by the Fiat and Chrysler. The new jeep is expected to inherit the platform outsourced from Alfa Romeo Giulietta. The company will be investing nearly USD 1.7 billion to build this new Chrysler SUV. Chrysler will be adding more workers and is quite likely that they will be adding a 2nd shift at Toledo plant.
