The Jeep Renegade is coming to India and if we go by news reports, the car will be launched here fitted with a 1.6-liter diesel engine. Earlier, some reports had suggested that the car will come with the 140 hp 2.0-litre mill, but looking at its competition it seems only fitting that a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine is fitted.
The 1.6-liter engine which is being talked about is capable of producing a peak power of 120HP and a peak torque of 320Nm.
Apart from the 1.6-liter diesel, the Jeep Renegade may also get the 1.4-litre MultiAir2 turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine which produces a peak power of 140Hp and a peak torque of 230Nm. The car, once launched will be produced Ranjangaon plant in Maharashtra.
