Going to make the debut by October, Jeeps imported by Fiat are doing test rounds in India that too fearlessly without any camouflage. Already caught red handed many a times, once again the fleet of Jeep is caught testing in Chennai. The picture which one can see over here is taken at one of the Fiat service centers there.
In one of the image, two Wranglers can be witnessed out of which one is the Wrangler Unlimited – a diesel version, whilst the second one is Wrangler Sport – a petrol version. It was also learnt that, prototypes are embedded with GPS system which can analyze various parameters. And along with those, 2014 Grand Cherokee is also seen testing alongside 2011 Grand Cherokee.
For reference, the MH 12 JZ 5089 plated Grand Cherokee is of 2014 make, whilst the MH 12 JM 9248 is of 2011.
Confirming details as per the speculations going in industry, and also to the statement of Fiat India MD, Mr. Nagesh Basavanhalli for bringing in the latest products in India, the 2014 badge of Grand Cherokee is hotly expected for the India launch.
Jeep is targeting 10 big cities of India to start its sales operations at initial stage, where the brand may take products bagging deep into the Tier II and Tier III too at latter point. However, all Jeep will be sold through new dealerships; hence no collaboration with Fiat sales floor to be done.
Wrangler is expectedly going to be priced for more than Rs. 20 lakh and the Grand Cherokee to fringe in between Rs. 40-50 lakh.
