Jehan Daruvala, an associate of the Sahara Force India Academy, bagged the CIK FIA Karting honor on Sunday for his triumph at the Asia Pacific KF3 Championship during late October last year.
The special occasion to honor the victors of the 2012 official CIK FIA contest took place at the Pavillon Gabriel.
Many prominent motorsport stars attended the function.
Daruvala, the 14-year old from the city of Mumbai, who raced with Rayo Racing at the Asia Pacific event in Macau, bagged his honor in front of FIA president Jean Todt and Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, President of the CIK (Commission Internationale de Karting).
Jehan commenced his profession during mid-2009 after becoming part of a training programme with Rayo Racing. During his third episode, he had already pocketed his initial pole place in the JK Tyre National Karting Championship.
In the year 2010, Jehan ruled the micro max group in the Indian contest.
In the year 2011, he bagged the Malaysian ASK series in the Junior Yamaha group.
Jehan stated: “Bagging my honor for the CIK FIA Asia Pacific contest at the big occasion in World Karting, means a lot to any racer. I’d like to express thanks to everybody at Sahara Force India Academy for their try and trust in me.”
