Jaguar Land Rover, Tata Motors owned introduced a special edition of its latest SUV Range Rover Evoque that will be available this October for the price of Rs. 65 lakhs. The automaker also revealed the new version of its prestige saloon, the XJ at Beijing Auto Show. This Range Rover Evoque‘s special edition is designed in association with Victoria Beckham and will be marketed this October. Wide of David Beckham, football star and former singer, she was appointed Creative Design Executive two years ago and has worked with the design team of Land Rover since 18 months for creating a special edition.
Mr. Gerry McGovern, Design Director at Land Rover stated that working with Victoria the intention wasn’t for changing the Range Rover Evoque’s award winning design and fundamental architecture. They wanted to create a special edition which extends its character in a new direction via restrained, understated detail and color changes. Victoria Beckham and Land Rover’s global appeal and creditability will help the company for consolidating its position in rising markets such as Brazil, China and Russia. Motivation for the all-new Special Edition will come from a petrol 2.0 liter engine that’s hand finished by Engineering to Order Division of Land Rover in Warwickshire.
In the meantime, Jaguar revealed the XJ Ultimate that will be propelled by a petrol 3.0 liter powerplant. It can also be equipped with the existing 5.0 liter supercharged petrol V8 engine of the company alongside V6 3.0 liter turbocharged petrol. The company stated that all engines will be mated to an eight-speed transmission. Jaguar Land Rover said that the luxury sedan will be offered late this year and engines and pricing will be announced at a later stage.
