Japanese driver, Kamui Kobayashi, driving for BMW Sauber did recently invite the tsunami-struck Japanese people that rocked the island nation earlier this year in March to the Japanese GP.
He told he wanted to add joy to the people affected by the consequences of tsunami and has personally sent out invitations to a set of children, members belonging to Suzuka, a group of singing girls, their parents and other guests.
Kobayashi tells he hoped children from Minami-Soma had a memorable weekend. He tells he’d make sure they’d all be looked after well regarding their travel and accommodation among others. He told he’d be proud of their heartfelt singing showcasing the whole world how grateful and strong Japan was.
Kobayashi was affected by tsunami too and the nuclear disaster earlier in March, but things are much better now in Japan, and he seems to be totally focused on the current 2011 F1 season.
Kobayashi’s currently running in 11th position at 27 points in the drivers’ points table. Sergio Perez, his teammate, meanwhile, is also doing well and placed at 16th position with eight points.
BMW Sauber currently is in 7th in the overall constructors’ table after Monza. Force India Mercedes struck back snatching the 6th position from them, although the difference in points is just a meagre 1 point behind Force India and the objective should be pretty straightforward for Sauber in the remaining 6 races of the season.
Sauber at best would like to finish in 6th in the constructors’ table behind Lotus GP who are in 5th. Finishing 6th in the season would entitle them as the best car in the midfield after McLaren Mercedes and Lotus GP, who are having decent runs in the Championship currently.
Finishing 6th again would help them realise being better than either Force India Mercedes or Scuderia Toro Rosso. They should hopefully set this as their target.
It’s a good move by Kobayashi to have invited the affected population in Japan due to tsunami and earthquake, and the venue for the cause cannot be better than the Japanese GP.
