To raise the toast of celebration for its five year existence in India, and also for the commencement of festivities, Land Rover launched a Sterling edition of Freelander 2 for Rs 44.41 lakh ex-showroom Mumbai (pre-octroi).
On the cosmetic front, Sterling Land Rover gets 17-inch alloys in anthracite finish, complemented by darkened front grille, side claddings, fender and side vents. The tail gate spoiler as well as front and rear apron too are blackened, above all the exhaust gets a chrome touch.
Technicalities under the hoods are said to be carried over. The existing 2.2-litre diesel engine of 148bhp mated to a six-speed automatic continues to do its job. We are expecting, when the newly revealed Discovery is going to make way here.
