Land Rover Freelander is undergoing a comprehensive update this summer, strengthening the appeal of a model, which is still growing in popularity. Capitalizing on increasing demand for the compact Sports Utility Vehicle, new equipment specifications are being introduced, which provide the customers both greater value for money and additional features. The new range, on sale from early June, will feature a new, 3-grade lineup, healed by the Metropolis edition, replacing the HSE as the most desirable and luxurious Freelander yet.
Building on the Freelander’s customer appeal including versatility and the automaker’s revolutionary capability from the existing HSE LUX model, the Metropolis Edition benefits from an array of advanced standard features for increasing style, adding functionality and making life onboard even more comfortable.
They include touchscreen-controlled satellite navigation, electrically adjustable (6-way for passenger and 8-way for driver) front seats upholstered in premium Windsor leather; panoramic sunroof, diamond-turned 19-inch wheels and an 825W meridian surround sound audio system. The manifest also extends to heated steering wheel, Xenon headlamps with Land Rover’s signature LED daytime running lights, a reversing camera, luxury carpet mats, gloss black interior detailing and premium metallic paint.
The Land Rover Freelander Metropolis is joined in the range by the new SE and SE Tech trims, which respectively replace the GS and XS designations. SE grade, the new entry point to Freelander, builds on the established GS specification with the addition of front foglamps, a heated windscreen, 10-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels, the design pack combination of color-matched sills and bumpers and rear and front centre armrests. This is all offered in addition to climate control, heated leather seats, rear parking sensors, Bluetooth, power-folding door mirrors and heater.
Going even further, the new SE Tech models add touchscreen-controlled navigation, a more powerful, 380W Meridian audio system, 10-spoke, 19-inch, alloy wheels and automatic wipers and headlamps.
The powertrain options of Freelander have also been rationalized to offer the TD4 engine with manual transmission in SE and SE Tech versions and the SD4 unit with automatic transmission across the complete range.
