Come September 2 and India will get a new Land Rover product – the Discover Sport. Advance bookings for the car have already begun. The Discover Sport is a new line of Land Rover cars that dawns the new Land Rover design language and uses a much lighter platform as its base. Features like terrain response system, parking assist, a new 5+2 seating configuration can be seen in this new car.
The car will come in two 2ngine variants. The TD4 150PS engine is capable of churning out a peak power of 148BHP. Power of this engine is delivered to the wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The diesel version comes equipped with a TD4 180PS engine capable of giving out a peak power of 178BHP and is mated to a mind-boggling 9-speed automatic transmission.
As with all Land Rovers, the Discovery Sport will have all the off-roading features that this company known offering. Pricing for the product is expected to be competitive since Land Rover will sell it through the CKD route. Production for the car seems to have begun already.
