Baby Range Rover enters the local manufacturing in India. Land Rover launched India-made Evoque for a starting price of Rs 48.73 lakh ex-showroom Mumbai (Pre-Octroi).
The standard feature list across the entire lineup includes auto transmission, front and rear parking sensors, rear view camera, navigation system, panoramic sunroof and the company’s very own Terrain Response System for a gripping hold on the unpaved terrains.
Hence, it was Jacqueline Fernandez, Bollywood actress, who took the wraps off the local baby off-range Rover in Mumbai.
At the manufacturing facility in Pune, Evoque will join siblings like FreeLander 2, Jaguar XF and XJ, will be the fourth of JLR lineup to see assembly at Pune.
Supporting this new strategic move of the carmaker, it replied, India for JLR is one of the twenty big markets in the world that delivered more than 20% growth during the past three years. This strengthen the faith of company to engrave deeper the foothold in the economy of nation.
Under the hood, there will be existing 2.2-litre SD4 diesel engine, sending maximum power of 140kW @ 3500rpm and peak torque of 420Nm @ 2000rpm. Three trims are on offer at sales floor: Pure, Dynamic and Prestige.
Commenting at the launch, Mr. Rohit Suri, President of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India, said, Indian market has offered significant growth for both the brands. And Range Rover Evoque is a very well-known product amongst the audience, which will touch new heights after being offered for a competitive price. This new form of investment at Pune facility replicates the firmer long-term commitment to the local market.
