Mercedes-Benz dwelled itself completely into the ‘Make in India’ strategy of our new PM, marked another milestone on the same by the launch of locally manufactured GLA, starting for a price of Rs 31.31 lakh ex-showroom Pune. The India-made GLA holds a difference of Rs 2 lakh than the imported unit.
As per the reports, only diesel version will see the manufacturing in this country, whereas petrol shall continue to follow the CBU (completely built unit) route attracting huge amount of duties.
The engine GLA CDI uses underneath the bonnet is a 2.2-litre four-cylinder unit which produces max power of 135bhp and 300Nm of torque, after mated to a seven-speed DCT (dual-clutch) transmission. The traction as in the standard are forwarded to front wheels, whereas the option of AWD 4MATIC is still not on offer across the diesel variants.
Mercedes’ GLA is quite interesting to look at, as it takes on rivals like BMW X1 and Audi Q3 at the most. Measuring sufficient on inside, one can also find an exhaustive list of features attached, like Harman KArdon music system, steering-mounted paddle shifters, COMAND infotainment system, 18-inch alloy wheels, premium leather upholstery and lot more to name upon.

GLA 200 CDI Sport – Rs 34.25 lakh
