Despite the small consumer base Mahindra is offering goodies to lure buyers of e2o. As per to its latest price list, the maker has reduced price of its EV to Rs 4.79 lakhs (on-road Delhi). The move came under the FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) Scheme announcement of government.
Additionally, on the basis of FAME maker is set to focus on R&D and setup of new charging stations. Presently, Reva had installed no lesser than 300 charging stations in India for Mahindra, where at a near future it will increase the number.
Commenting about the deduction, Pravin Shah, President & Chief Executive (of Automotive sector) at Mahindra & Mahindra said, the incentive is a good sign of response from the government showing their dedication to EVs for environment. The incentive will get passed on to customers, which in return will make e2o more lucrative and viable in India. Further perception of government is also very positive about the EVs, will result more of those vehicles on roads of this country.
