The Mahindra group recently donated Rs. 2 crore for drought relief to Maharashtra government for the current drought situation in the state. From the proposed 2 crore, 1 crore will be donated directly to the chief minister relief fund and the balance 1 crore will be spent by the company to construct an integrated drought resistance program across the state, that will mainly concentrate on water conservation and storage along with the new methods of agricultural practice. It will also teach people about the method they should apply to conserve more water.
Chief minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Prithiviraj Chavan appreciated Mahindra’s effort to help the government with the drought relief program during a meeting with the top Mahindra officials, Mr. Rajeev Dubey, President (Group HR, Corporate Sales and After market), Mr. Bharat Doshi (Executive Director and Group CFO) and members of Group Executive Board of Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd.
