Mahindra is known for SUVs in the country, they have produced some of the SUVs which are now very popular such as Scorpio, Bolero and XUV500. Since Industry is switching from BS4 to BS6 Mahindra is upgrading its portfolio and launching BS6 versions of their existing products. Mahindra has announced that it has commenced the bookings for New BS6 XUV500 online.
Mahindra has upgraded the XUV500 to the latest emission norms. Prices for the three-row SUV now range from Rs 13.20 lakh for the base W5 variant to Rs 17.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-end W11(O) trim. The entry-level W3 variant has been done away with, as has the option of an automatic transmission, at least for now. The XUV500 is now available only with a sole diesel-manual combination. As such, the BS6 XUV500 costs about Rs 29,000-32,000 more than the equivalent versions of the BS4-spec vehicle.
The new Mahindra XUV500 BS6 comes powered by an updated version of the same 2.2-litre diesel engine. It produces 153bhp and 360Nm of peak torque and is mated either to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission unit.
The new Mahindra XUV500 BS6 once in India will continue to be offered in a range of variants. This includes W5, W7, W7 AT, W9, W9 AT, W11(O) and W11(O) AT. All variants of the BS6 XUV500 will continue to carry forward the same features and equipment as the previous BS4 model, with little to no changes being made.
Some of the features available on the Mahindra XUV500 BS6 include LED lighting all around, stylish dual-tone alloy wheels, electric sunroof, plush faux leather interiors, large touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, automatic climate control and cruise control; among a host of others.
The new Mahindra XUV500 BS6 will also continue to be offered in a range of colour options: Crimson Red, Volcano Black, Pearl White, Opulent Purple, Mystic Copper, Moondust Silver and Lake Side Brown.
