The SsangYong Rexton was brought in 2012 to India, but it really failed to make any impact. Now Mahindra is bringing the new generation Rexton with a hope to change the Rexton’s battered past. Currently, the car has been codenamed Y400 and is all set for a festive season launch in the country.
The new generation Rexton is bigger than its predecessor. While the international model is a five-seater, the one to be launched in India is said to be a seven-seater.
On the inside, the car has been heavily updated with the addition of the 9.2-inch HD display compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new Rexton would be powered by a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine producing a peak power of 187HP and is paired to a seven-speed automatic transmission.
