Mahindra is upgrading its portfolio silently. They are silently launching BS6 cars online on their respective website. Mahindra has launched its iconic SUV in the Indian Market with BS6 emission norms. Mahindra and Mahindra have commenced online bookings for the new Scorpio BS6. Mahindra has dropped the previous base S3 variant, the 2.5-litre diesel engine, and the 2.2-litre mHawk in the lower 120hp state of tune. All-wheel drive (AWD), which was an option on the top-spec variant is also no longer on offer. However, the interior and exterior design of the Scorpio remains unchanged.
Under the hood of the updated Scorpio lies a BS6-compliant version of the 2.2-litre, four-cylinder mHawk engine, which is good for 140hp and 320Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox – there’s no automatic option on the BS6 Scorpio. In order to comply with BS6 norms, the 2.2 mHawk engine has been given a selective catalytic reduction system with a dedicated urea tank, along with a diesel particulate filter.
Inside the cabin, the SUV sports plush faux leather interiors with dark fabric insert enhancing the overall appeal of the interiors. It also gets a faux leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio and cruise controls, driver seat height adjuster, electric adjustable ORVMs, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, GPS, reverse parking assistance, reverse parking camera, fully automatic temperature control and much more.
