Mahindra and Mahindra is always keen on finding new sources of expansion and the latest one to make it to that list is the Used car segment. Mahindra now allows you to buy cars from the comfort of your home and with the assurance from Mahindra. The SUV manufacturer is planning to build an online used car portal, where it will mainly try to target dealers and further this facility will be extended to customers. There are already some big players trying their luck in the used car segment like Toyota, Maruti and Volkswagen but they all operate offline.
President, HR, After market and Corporate service, Mr. Rajeev Dubey, said that the online Bazaar will become functional from January 2013. The online bazaar will first involve only Mahindra First Choice dealers but late it will be expanded to individuals.
In the virtual car trade, Mahindra wants to hold the prime position and they would be dedicating their strategy according to click and mortar model. Dubey further added that by taking the second hand car business online Mahindra is trying to streamline the whole of this uncategorized sector.
Mahindra will be in direct rivalry with the prominent car selling websites but best thing will be their network of dealers who will certify the cars, before posting them online.
