India’s largest SUV manufacturer has devised a clear strategy to remain leader in the ever growing SUV market. By the end of 2016, Mahindra is planning to bring in at least three new variants of SUV to its product line-up, which will also include a hatchback, compact SUV and a stretched out UV with 4 rows. The strong relation with the Mahindra owned SsangYong will make the way for all the possibilities.
2014 will be witnessing launch of next generation of Scorpio with 140 bhp engine that will arrive with 6-speed gearbox inherited from its older brother XUV500, still the vehicle will be priced effectively just below XUV500.
Another car that will be creating much of a buzz will be the entry level hatch that is currently under the development with code name C 101. The vehicle is all set to have a starting price of Rs. 4 lakh and will be competing against the B segment vehicles. Based on the same platform Mahindra will also be coming up with a sub 4 meter compact SUV code named as S 101. Other than this company is also looking towards building brand value for its SsangYong brand with the launch of models like Rodius and new entry X 100, which will be arriving by 2015.
Other than that Mahindra will also be coming in with entry level version of XUV500 in the couple of weeks to compete with Renault Duster and EcoSports.
