Mahindra has now opened advance bookings of the Mahindra XUV300 diesel automatic variant. The XUV300 AMT will launch sometime in July and will cost Rs.50,000 more than the XUV diesel manual variant.
The diesel-AMT XUV 300 will be offered on higher spec variants, while the base W4 variant will continue to have a manual transmission. The XUV 300 AMT version will be identical to its manual counterpart except for the addition of the Marelli-sourced six-speed automatic manual gearbox.
The XUV 300 was launched last year and since then it has done relatively well in the Indian SUV market. But it has been criticized by buyers for being more expensive compared to its competitions in the market. The price point is something Mahindra would do well to address in the future.
