Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd, India’s leading SUV manufacturer announced a rise of about 19% in its auto sales figures at 47059 units during July 2012 against the 39633 units sold during July 2011. The firm’s domestic sales figures stood at 42799 during the July 2012 in comparison to the 37323 units sold during July 2011, which shows an increase of 15%. The passenger vehicle segment including UVs and Verito saw a rise of about 27% with 22011 units sold in July 2012 compared to 17312 units in July 2011.
Speaking about the performance, Chief executive of Automobile division Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, Pravin Shah said that company is happy to achieve a growth of about 19% during the period of July 2012 despite of the difficult and uncertain market scenarios. He also added that the July 2012 recorded the second highest monthly sale figures for M&M. he also said that the auto industry is right now concerned about the slower economic growth and uncertain consumer sentiments. It could have been really beneficial if the interest rates could have been slashed, which could have aided in bringing down the manufacturing and product costs.
The collective sales for the passenger vehicles sales in July 2012 including UVs and Verito was 22011higher by about 27% in compared to the 17312 units sold in July last year. The sale of the commercial 4 wheelers including Maxximo, Genio, Bolero pickup and Gio was recorded at 14688 up by 9% when compared to the 13472 units last year in July 2011. The 3-wheeler sales stood at 5149 down by about 5% when compared to the earlier sales during the same period last year at 5395. MNAL sales were reported about 951 units compared to 1144 units last year which is down by 17%. Collectively the total domestic sales by Mahindra & Mahindra stood high at about 47059 units rising about 19% from the previous figures of 39633 during the same period last year.
Mahindra exported about 4260 vehicles which are quite high when compared to the previous year’s figure of about 2310. The total sales including the export and domestic sales stood at 47059 units a rise of about 19% over the previous sales of about 39633 units during July last year.
