Following Honda’s complete revival in the Indian market with cars that had amazing fuel efficiency, it is now time for Maruti Suzuki to step up and take notice. Since last year, the company has been launching car after car with amazing fuel efficiencies that are regularly reported as best in their class and are set apart from all other cars in the market today.
Maruti also produced an all new two-cylinder diesel engine and put it on the Celerio, which made it the most fuel efficient car in the country at an amazing 27.62 kmpl.
According to sources, the company is planning to add the same engine to the Alto 800 which will make it the most fuel efficient car in the country and make it much more fuel efficient than its current petrol motor which delivers about 22kmpl. The company may also look to launch it with the 793cc diesel engine installed which has 47.6 PS of max power and 125Nm of peak torque.
The Alto is one of the most successful Maruti cars and this addition may take the sales of the vehicle to another level altogether.
